Arumugam, currently working as Knowledge Management Lead in Hewlett Packard, Bangalore, has over 8 years of expertise and experience in Knowledge Management, Content Management, and Web 2.0 Strategies.
An Information Science professional from the Madurai Kamaraj University, Arumugam began his career with Vergis Electronics Publishing as a project assistant. He was instrumental in implementing library automation, documents digitations and content management in various libraries including prestigious National Library, Kolkata.
Later on, he pursued his PGIKM (Post Graduate Training in Information and Knowledge Management) from premier academia like Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, specializing in content management and knowledge management.
He then joined as KM Team Member in Premier Evolvic Private Ltd, Coimbatore where his initial assignment was in KM team, to development and maintenance of knowledge management portal using Windows Sharepoint Portal Server 2003.
Later he joined as KM Analyst in Deloitte, Hyderabad. As part hi role, he worked various KM process like taxonomy maintenance, social networking platform (like facebook), content management, KM process documentation, wiki & blog implementation, developed innovation management system using blog etc.
Arumugam joined HP’s Decision Support and Analytics System in April 2008, responsible for facilitating KM services to 700 odd members team – which includes communities practice, unconferecing, content management, social networks(wiki, blogs, forum) etc,. In his present stint, the role also extends supporting an end to end consulting engagement with HP Corporate Marketing India to setup from scratch a pan India internal social media and collaborative platform for 33000 odd number of India wide HP employees, an employee centric portal, first of its kind for HP in any country so far.

This is Geetha, working as Asst Prof in MCA at Kumaraguru college of technology, Coimbatore. I am pursuing my research on "Knowledge Management for Academia" . As a part of it , I am in the idea of a developing a KM portal. Iwould like to have your valuable suggestions on this.
